Abstract for Research Report The main topic of this workshop is Topological Data Analysis. One of tools of TDA is the persistent homology. It provides methods to analyze topological features of data. Mapper is also one of tools of TDA. We can use it to represent high-dimensional data in a simple representation.
An aim of this workshop is to provide an environment for researchers with various backgrounds to discuss and share knowledge of TDA. The scope of this workshop covers not only theoretical topics but also practical topics.
The theory of persistent homology with one parameter has been established and applied to many fields, e.g., materials science, image analysis, biochemistry, and machine learning. As the generalization, we can consider the theory of persistence homology with multi-parameter. The organizer hopes that the theory and application will be developed by the discussion of participants with various backgrounds.
Mapper has been applied to many kinds of data, e.g., single-cell analysis, patent analysis, and so on. The organizer hopes that new application will be found in this workshop.
