Abstract for Research Report |
[Introduction] In this research assembly, the main target participants are undergraduate and graduate students who will engage in PBL (Project Based Learning) implemented with data provided from the industry, while adhering to the educational program (literacy/application basic level) formulated by Japan Inter-University Consortium for Mathematics, Data Science and AI Education. This PBL will be conducted with data and challenges provided by Osaka University, Hitachi Systems, Ltd., and Dentsu Inc., and will be jointly conducted as intensive lectures for approximately two weeks as part of the lecture subjects at Osaka University, Shimane University, Waka University, Hiroshima Institute of Technology, Kochi University, Ehime University, and Ibaraki University. [Purpose] As the attendees are undergraduate and graduate students aspiring towards data science and due to the short duration of the intensive lectures, the main objective of the speakers is not to deliver academically oriented content on data science, but rather to conduct lectures aimed at encouraging participating students to be more actively engaged in their future studies. [Expected Outcomes] The speaker, Prof. Nobuhiko Asakura (Osaka University), specializes in cognitive science, covering a range of topics addressed in data science education such as database construction, big data analysis, and visualization. As a result, it is expected to serve as a significant motivation for the students. |
