Abstract for Research Report |
Diffusion MRI (dMRI) can provide information on the microstructure and function of the organism based on the measurement of water molecules. Multiple diffusion-weighted images (DWI) taken with different imaging settings (magnitude and direction of the gradient magnetic field) are used as measurement data, and voxel-by-voxel biological information is obtained by using a signal model according to the purpose. For example, there are models with parameters such as the diffusion tensor and the diameter of nerve fibers, which are expressed by equations where the imaging settings and biometric parameters are inputs and the DWI signal values are outputs. The biometric parameters are obtained by fitting with the imaging settings used and a set of measured DWI signal values. Let the number of parameters in a signal value model be M and assume that there are measurement data from N different imaging settings (M |
