Abstract for Research Report Card-based cryptography is a research field that realizes cryptographic functionalities such as secure multi-party computation using only physical cards and manual operations. In recent years, the research community has steadily expanded alongside progress from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Building on the community formed by IMI short-term joint research since 2023, the primary objective of this project is to reorganize the problem structure of the entire field and establish a research foundation for sustainable development.
Specifically, to ensure that the growing research population can continue to produce results, we will systematize existing findings and unsolved problems through intensive discussions. We aim to categorize evaluation metrics such as the numbers of cards, shuffles, and model constraints to further clarify the positioning of various studies. This will deepen the common understanding among researchers, including newcomers, and lay the groundwork for new developments that incorporate perspectives from outside the field.
The expected outcome is the "clarification of the research problem structure," improving the overview of the entire field. This will not only prevent duplication of research themes and organize the theoretical positioning of individual studies but also serve as a strong foundation for future publications and the creation of new joint research. The academic and social significance of this research lies in its focus on environment-building to ensure stable development of the field.
