Abstract for Research Report The primary objective of this workshop is to cultivate a dynamic, international platform for research exchange that actively involves students and early-career researchers who represent the next generation of academic leadership. To achieve this, we will invite distinguished experts from abroad, notably Associate Professor Gunwoong Park (Seoul National University), a leading specialist in graphical models, and Associate Professor Il-Youp Kwak (Chung-Ang University), a recognized expert in applied statistics.

The core theme of the workshop centers on sharing the latest, cutting-edge research findings across various disciplines that are of rapidly growing importance in modern statistics. These fields include time series analysis, multivariate analysis, deep learning, statistical genetics, and nonparametric statistics. By fostering a comprehensive sharing of advanced insights from these diverse disciplines, the workshop seeks to explore and establish novel theoretical frameworks. These frameworks are essential for elucidating the complex dependence structures of high-dimensional data and for accurately modeling intricate phenomena—significant challenges that have proven difficult to resolve using conventional methodologies. Consequently, this collaborative environment is designed to strongly facilitate the discovery and development of innovative, cross-disciplinary research themes.

Furthermore, a critical goal of this initiative is to significantly strengthen the international research execution capabilities and global communication skills of our students and early-career researchers. The workshop will provide them with invaluable opportunities to present their research findings and engage in rigorous question-and-answer sessions in English. Facilitating direct, face-to-face discussions with front-line international researchers will provide them with critical feedback and broader academic perspectives.

The expected outcomes of this workshop are highly promising and extend well beyond immediate academic breakthroughs. Crucially, we anticipate the establishment of concrete, long-term collaborative frameworks that will directly lead to the future co-authoring of international joint research papers. Ultimately, by serving as a foundational cornerstone, this workshop will help forge a robust, enduring platform for continuous scholarly exchange between domestic and international researchers. In doing so, it will act as a vital catalyst in elevating the overall research standards and global presence of statistical science in Japan.
