| Abstract for Research Report |
The objective of this international workshop is to strengthen academic collaboration in the field of mathematics for industry, with a particular focus on decision analytics, risk management, and sustainable systems. The workshop aims to bring together researchers from applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, and related disciplines to exchange recent advances, identify common research challenges, and explore new mathematical approaches motivated by real-world industrial and societal problems. A key objective is to foster interdisciplinary discussion on mathematical modeling and data-driven decision-making under uncertainty, especially in applications related to sustainability, infrastructure, energy systems, and risk-sensitive industrial operations. By organizing focused sessions and interactive discussions, the workshop seeks to deepen mutual understanding between theoretical developments and practical industrial needs. Another important objective is to provide a platform for early-career researchers and graduate students to engage with senior researchers in an intensive academic environment. This will help build long-term research networks and promote future joint research projects involving international collaboration. The expected outcomes of the workshop include (i) the identification of emerging research themes in mathematics for industry, (ii) the initiation of new collaborative research ideas suitable for joint publications and external research funding, and (iii) the dissemination of workshop outcomes within the broader mathematics-for-industry research community. The discussions and findings from the workshop are expected to contribute to subsequent academic activities and to strengthen the international visibility of collaborative research in applied and industrial mathematics. |
